Our Story - CookiePal-USA

Our Story

The four of us met in a training program for our rescue dogs. Our one common passion was obvious, a love of animals, but we also enjoyed nutritious, great tasting food. Two of us had dogs with cancer and were making homemade pet food and treats from high-quality human ingredients. As we began to imagine sharing the treats with our human and animal friends our excitement grew. That led to the creation of COOKIEPAL.

We began testing the recipe with large-scale production in mind, using organic ingredients like oat and lentils (or oat and lentil flour), molasses, coconut oil, cashew butter, and turmeric. All the while we were feeding it to animals and humans. Our goal was to create a tasty treat and maximize the nutritional benefits. Wagging and swishing tails and big smiles were the first signs that dogs, horses, donkeys, goats, and people loved COOKIEPAL.

From the start, we knew that a regular supply of treats and some of the profits would go to a worthy cause.

Taste our treats along with your pets!

Zero Waste Certification

COOKIEPAL is proud to be a TRUE Zero Waste business. The Total Resource Use and Efficiency certification allowed us to understand how materials flow through our Riverside dedicated facilities and identify areas needing a redesign. It's one of the ways we continue to demonstrate our responsibility to our planet's social and ecological health.

Zero Waste CertificationOur silver rating means we divert a minimum of 90 percent of our waste for reuse, recycling, composting, and recovery for use in nature or the economy. Our initiatives include having one of our offices go entirely paperless and expanding and labeling our waste and recycling system to divert efficiently. Certification is a rigorous process, and each year we submit 12 months of data for scientific evaluation by Green Business Certification Inc., a global, third-party credentialing body.

Plastic Neutral with rePurpose

We've partnered with rePurpose Global to fund the collection and ethical processing of as much nature-bound plastic waste as we create in our packaging. We are proud to have taken this next step to facilitate long-term holistic impact.

By contributing a percentage of every product purchase torePurpose Plastic Neutral Certified plastic reduction efforts, COOKIEPAL is enabling the removal of plastic waste otherwise landfilled, burned, or flushed into the oceans every year. We support 3 vetted waste management projects: Project Saaf Samudra in Goa, Project Anant Pranay in Aurangabad, and Project Hara Kal in Kerala that collect and process hard-to-recycle waste streams otherwise too low value to be reclaimed from the environment, such as chocolate wrappers, chips packets, and similar flexible packaging items.
